SEYMOUR — The sound of sleigh bells may still be weeks away, but Seymour won’t have to wait for a glimpse of Santa. The Seymour Neighborhood Santa Tour 2025 officially begins tonight, Monday, Dec. 1, with Santa climbing aboard a Seymour Fire Department firetruck at 5:30 p.m. to visit families across the city.
The tour will continue nightly through December 5, with Santa escorted each evening by the Seymour Police Department. City officials say the route will once again follow the city’s regular trash pickup schedule — meaning families can expect Santa to pass through their neighborhood on the same day their trash is collected. Monday trash routes will see Santa tonight, followed by Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday route areas throughout the week.

The firetruck will remain on main streets, and will not travel down alleys or cul-de-sacs, so residents are encouraged to step outside, wave from porches, and listen for sirens and Christmas music as Santa makes his way through town.
Brought to the community by Seymour Parks and Recreation, Seymour Fire Department and Seymour Police Department, the annual week-long tour has become a tradition for families eager to bring children outside for a magical moment close to home.
Santa says he can’t wait to see familiar faces again this year — and organizers hope every block feels the excitement.
Bundle up. Step outside. Wave when you hear him coming.
Santa rolls through Seymour tonight.
