Harrison County to host one-day ServSafe food Manager Certification Training

CORYDON — Food service workers looking to strengthen their credentials and advance their careers will have an opportunity next month as Purdue Extension Harrison County partners with Harrison County Lifelong Learning, Inc. to offer a one-day ServSafe Food Manager certification course and exam.

The training will take place Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, at Harrison County Lifelong Learning, located at 101 State Road 62 West, Suite 104 in Corydon. Instruction begins at 8:20 a.m. and runs through 3:15 p.m., followed by the ServSafe Food Manager Certification Exam at 3:30 p.m.

ServSafe Food Protection Manager is the highest level of ServSafe certification and is required by many employers in the food industry. The course prepares participants to safely handle and manage food in retail and commercial settings, with training focused on preventing foodborne illness, managing allergens, maintaining sanitation standards, ensuring safe food preparation, and overseeing purchasing, storage, and personal hygiene practices.

The full-day session includes a classroom training, a manual, and a proctored exam. Attendees must register by Nov. 30, 2025. A valid photo ID is required to take the exam.
