MITCHELL — The Mitchell Community Public Library is helping young readers get smart about money with a fun, hands-on event for children and their families. On Tuesday, October 28 at 4 p.m., kids ages 5–12 and their caregivers are invited to attend “Thinking Money for Kids: Penny Pincher’s Party.”

This interactive program will teach children about spending, saving, and making smart financial decisions through games and activities designed to make learning about money fun. The event is part of the Thinking Money for Kids initiative, developed by the American Library Association (ALA) and the FINRA Investor Education Foundation, which helps libraries engage families in financial literacy.
Admission is free, and no registration is required. Families are encouraged to stop by and enjoy a playful afternoon that helps kids build lifelong money skills.
