MITCHELL – Spring Mill State Park will come alive with fall fun during its annual Scarecrow Weekend on Saturday, October 18, and Sunday, October 19. Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy two days of creative crafts, festive activities, and Halloween spirit throughout the Pioneer Village and campground.
Visitors can make a rag doll ghost, create a scarecrow scene to take home, craft a small corn husk doll, make a leather craft, or paint a small wooden pumpkin to bring home as a keepsake. Program times will be posted on bulletin boards and chalkboards in the village for visitors to plan their day.
Please note: The Pioneer Village will close early at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, to prepare for The Haunted Village, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the Haunted Village must be pre-purchased on the day of the event at the Pool Gate. Ticket sales begin at 8:00 a.m. and are cash only. Each guest may purchase up to 10 tickets.

The fun continues Saturday afternoon with the Costume Parade at 2:30 p.m. in the campground. Guests should dress in costume and arrive at the Campground Amphitheater (next to site #108) by 2:20 p.m. to participate. Animals on short leashes are welcome to join the fun—and are encouraged to wear costumes, too!
