BEDFORD — The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County has announced that this year’s Dinner & Auction will feature Greg Stube, a retired U.S. Army Green Beret, author, and nationally recognized motivational speaker. The event, themed “Calling All Superheroes,” will take place on Saturday, November 8th, celebrating courage, service, and the strength to overcome adversity.
Stube, a combat veteran who sustained life-threatening injuries in service, has since dedicated his life to inspiring others through his work in leadership, team dynamics, and resilience. His story centers not on superpowers, but on perseverance, sacrifice, and an unshakable will to help others rise above life’s challenges.

As a Green Beret, Stube’s mission extended far beyond the battlefield. Members of the U.S. Army Special Forces are trained not only to fight but also to foster peace through strength—living among local populations, earning trust, and empowering communities to protect themselves. Their motto, “De Oppresso Liber” (“To Free the Oppressed”), continues to shape Stube’s mission today as he helps individuals and organizations find purpose through adversity.
The event will raise funds to support the Boys & Girls Club’s programs for local youth, providing educational opportunities, mentorship, and safe spaces for growth.
Tickets and sponsorships for the Dinner & Auction are now available at bgclawco.org/tickets.
Community members are encouraged to reserve their seats early for an unforgettable evening of stories, inspiration, and celebration of local heroes.
