Tucker Carlson to speak at IU after assassination of Turning Point Co-Founder Charlie Kirk

BLOOMINGTON – Conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson is scheduled to speak at Indiana University (IU) on October 21 as part of the Turning Point USA (TPUSA) “American Comeback Tour.” Carlson is filling the spot of TPUSA co-founder and prominent right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, who was recently assassinated.

Carlson is set to speak at 6:30 p.m. on October 21, when the tour resumes its campus visits later this fall. The organization’s website, however, does not yet list a specific location for the event on the IU campus.

TPUSA is a nonprofit organization with a presence on over 3,000 college and high-school campuses, including IU, creating a conservative activist network focused on debate and education.

The decision to continue the tour follows the tragic death of Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot on September 10 during a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University. Kirk is survived by his wife, Erika, and their two children. The alleged killer, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, is currently being held without bail.

The TPUSA event page stated the organization’s decision to continue the tour is in honor of Kirk, noting: “Each stop is a chance to honor Charlie’s mission and keep the fight alive. We know he wouldn’t want us to surrender or be coerced into silence.”
