Orleans announces Town-Wide Fall Clean Sweep

ORLEANS – The Orleans Town Council has scheduled its annual Fall Town-Wide Clean Sweep for October 6-11, encouraging all residents to participate in preparing the community for the fall and winter seasons.

During this week, town crews will pick up large, discarded items placed curbside. Residents should ensure items are out by noon on October 9 and are not placed near trees or overhead lines to allow for easier access with the grapple truck.

In addition to curbside pickup, a large dumpster will be available at the Orleans Town Garage for residents to drop off unwanted items.

The Orleans Chamber of Commerce is also joining the effort, urging both residents and business owners to “clean up, spruce up, fix up, and paint up” their properties. The Chamber is also inviting community members to decorate their homes and storefronts with fall-themed items, such as mums, scarecrows, and pumpkins, in preparation for the Annual Fall Fun Fest, scheduled for October 11.

For more information or to arrange for pickup of large items, residents can contact the Orleans Town Offices at 812-865-2539 or visit the town’s website.
