Purdue Extension to host Chef University for Orange County youth

PAOLI — Purdue Extension-Orange County will host Chef University for local youth in grades 3–5 from Oct. 15–17 at the 4-H Fairgrounds Block Building. The program runs daily from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and is designed to give students hands-on experience in the kitchen.

Chef University will feature lessons in healthy cooking, kitchen skills, and international foods, all taught in a fun, interactive environment. Organizers say the program helps participants gain confidence in preparing meals while learning the importance of nutrition and cultural variety.

Registration is $15 and is due by Oct. 10. The class is limited to 25 participants, with a minimum of 10 required. Cost assistance is available for families who may need it. Participants may register online at ChefUfall25.4honline.com.

Chef University is made possible through the support of the Orange County Community Foundation, Inc. Organizers also note that enrollment for the 2025–2026 4-H year opens Oct. 1, and adult volunteers assisting with the program must be re-enrolled by Oct. 10.
