BLOOMINGTON — The Bloomington City Council will host an open discussion on housing September 10 as the city moves forward with updates to its Unified Development Ordinance, the guiding document for local development.

The meeting, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Bloomington City Hall, invites residents to share experiences, ask questions, and offer input on housing challenges and opportunities. City officials say community feedback will help shape the revisions.
“Housing is an ecosystem—and when one piece is strained, it affects the whole system,” organizers said in a statement. “We know we need more attainable housing that meets people’s needs, and we also know our current processes sometimes get in the way.”
The event will feature members of the Bloomington City Council along with representatives from the Planning and Transportation Department and Housing and Neighborhood Development.
City leaders emphasized that all voices are welcome, whether from tenants, landlords, homeowners, or those aspiring to live in Bloomington.
Admission is free. More information is available at bloomington.in.gov/septcon.
