BLOOMINGTON — The Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market (BCFM) is celebrating the peak of tomato season while offering a variety of special events this weekend.


Field-grown tomatoes, known for their superior flavor and juiciness compared to grocery store varieties, are currently abundant and will be available through September. Shoppers can find a wide range of heirloom varieties, each with its unique appearance and taste.
Music at the Market

Janean Freeman, a vocalist, pianist, and autoharpist, will perform old-timey music. Originally from Owen County, Freeman will play two sets at the Circular Stage: one at 9 a.m. and another at 10:30 a.m.
3rd Annual Women’s Market

The City of Bloomington’s Commission on the Status of Women will host its 3rd Annual Women’s Market, featuring 28 local businesses and independent artists. The market will offer a diverse selection of items, including original paintings, handmade soaps, photography, and fresh flowers.
At the Mayor’s Team at the Table


The Mayor’s Team at the Table community outreach program will feature Shatoyia Moss, Director of the Community and Family Resources Department, and Aubrey Seader, Office Manager & Program Assistant. They will be available to answer questions and discuss city issues from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Farmers’ Market Advisory Council Meeting

The Farmers’ Market Advisory Council, which represents vendors, customers, and artisans, will hold its next meeting on Monday, August 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The council provides advice on policy matters related to the market.
