Bedford Chamber of Commerce honors community leaders at 109th Annual Dinner

BEDFORD — The Bedford Chamber of Commerce celebrated community impact Thursday night at its 109th Annual Dinner, held at Lawrence County Fairgrounds Expo Hall, bringing together business leaders, public officials, and residents for an evening of recognition, reflection, and fellowship.

Bedford Chamber CEO Dan Bortner and Governor Mike Braun

The program began with a welcome from Bedford Chamber CEO Dan Bortner, followed by the National Anthem performed by the Bedford North Lawrence Trumpet Trio. Daniel Lee, pastor at Tulip Street Christian Church offered the invocation, asking God to guide attendees “to be men and women of integrity and strong values…to provide opportunities for growth, development, and empowerment.”

Governor Braun granted an interview to WBIW, and topics ranged from how he is helping businesses, his vision for Southern Indiana, his thoughts on the changing workforce, and the potential of running for a second term.

Guests enjoyed dinner provided by Cedar Hill Catering before former Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman introduced Governor Mike Braun. In a fireside chat with Bortner, Braun discussed economic development, community partnerships, and government transparency.

Megan Martin of Bedford Young Professionals presented the 4 Under 40 Awards, and Alana Foster led the evening’s raffles. The Chamber’s annual awards followed, recognizing outstanding contributions to business and community life:

  • Small Business of the Year: Visiting Angels, presented by Bedford Chamber Chair Alyssa Prince.
  • Non-Profit of the Year: White River Humane Society, presented by Bedford Chamber Vice Chair Tony Mottley.
