MITCHELL — The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County has announced that memberships for the Mitchell Community Schools site will be free for the upcoming year, thanks to a “generous donor.” This allows children in grades 4-8 to attend the after-school program at Mitchell Junior High School for free.

The program runs every school day from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The club provides a variety of supervised activities, including homework help, gym games, cooking class, and arts and crafts, in a safe and enriching environment where students can learn and have fun.
To register, parents must first sign their child up for a 2025-26 Mitchell Club Membership using the code “MITCHELL” on the Parent Portal. After obtaining the free membership, they can then register for the after-school program.
During pick-up, parents can retrieve their children from Door F-1 any time after 3:30 p.m., but no later than 6 p.m. All children must be signed out by a parent or an approved individual.
For questions or additional information, parents can email info@bgcblc.org or call 812-279-6123.
