BEDFORD — Purdue Extension Lawrence County is offering a four-week “Be Heart Smart” program designed to help residents reduce their risk of heart disease and foster healthy habits.

The interactive program, which costs $20 for the full series with financial assistance available, includes weekly hands-on lessons, free heart health screenings, cooking and tasting demonstrations, and take-home meal kits. Participants will also be entered into a drawing for small kitchen appliances.
The program will be held at the StoneGate Building, located at 931 15th Street. Sessions are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on August 21 and 28, and September 4 and 11, 2025.
