MITCHELL — Hatfield Elementary Kindergarten Orientation for new students will be held on Monday, August 5th. The event will welcome incoming kindergarteners and their families, with specific times allocated based on the child’s teacher.
Parents of students with teachers Brown, Lee, or Ochs should arrive between 8:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. For students with teachers Dusard, Hardman, or Ramey, orientation is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
To prepare, parents should check Harmony for their child’s assigned teacher. On Orientation Day, bring a backpack and water bottle, and all supplies should be labeled with your child’s name. If possible, please make arrangements for the care of other siblings.
Upon arrival, families should locate their child’s teacher and place the necessary supplies on the designated cart. Students will remain with their teacher while parents/guardians attend a meeting with Mr. Fountain in the cafeteria. After approximately 20 minutes, students will be taken outside to the playground, where they will meet their teacher in the classroom to complete forms and address any questions. Following another 20 minutes with the teacher, parents will reunite with their child outside on the playground.
Kindergarten’s first full day of school will be Wednesday, August 6th. The school looks forward to meeting all new students and their families to kick off a successful academic year.
