MITCHELL— The sounds of classic swing and modern big band jazz will fill the Mitchell Opera House on Saturday, July 19, 2025, as the Bloomington Jazz Orchestra returns for a high-energy live performance beginning at 7 p.m.
Based in Bloomington, the orchestra is composed of top-tier musicians from across the region. Known for its dynamic style and rich musicality, the ensemble performs a wide range of big band repertoire—from the timeless swing of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Glenn Miller to contemporary works by Tom Kubis, Gordon Goodwin, and Mario Bauza.
Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The historic Mitchell Opera House is handicap accessible, but guests are reminded that food and beverages are not permitted inside the auditorium.
