BEDFORD — Crowder’s Pharmacy will host an American Red Cross blood drive on Thursday, June 26, providing a vital opportunity for local donors to support patients in need.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the pharmacy’s conference room at 631 16th Street, Bedford. Community members are encouraged to make an appointment ahead of time, though walk-ins will also be accepted. Donors can schedule visits online at redcrossblood.org or by calling 1‑800‑RED CROSS (1‑800‑733‑2767).
Local Red Cross officials emphasize an ongoing need for all blood types, particularly O negative, A negative, and B negative. Donations are particularly critical during summer months, when blood supplies often dip below safe levels.
To be eligible, donors must be at least 16 years old (with parental consent for minors), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in general good health. The Red Cross recommends using its online eligibility tool or contacting its office for specific criteria details.
Crowder’s Pharmacy staff will assist with onsite donor registration and refreshments. Pharmacy lead manager Jane Miller said the drive reflects the pharmacy’s commitment to supporting Bedford-area healthcare needs.
“Hosting this blood drive aligns with our mission to care for the community in a holistic way,” Miller said. “Every donation can save up to three lives—our goal is to meet and exceed our target.”
Donors are advised to schedule appointments in advance to help ensure a steady supply. For complete details on eligibility and to register, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1‑800‑733‑2767.
