Free Legal Phone Clinic available for low-income residents in South-Central Indiana

SOUTH-CENTRAL, IN – Low-income residents across an eight-county district in South-Central Indiana can access free legal advice through a phone clinic sponsored by River Valley Legal Aid and Pro Bono Indiana on Tuesday, June 10. The participating counties include Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Rush, and Shelby.

The phone clinic will run from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., but pre-registration is mandatory and must be completed between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on the same day.

This initiative aims to provide equal access to justice within the communities by utilizing local volunteer attorneys.

Individuals who register by calling 812-378-0358 during the noon to 2 p.m. window can expect to receive a brief consultation on general civil matters, limited pro se assistance, or advice over the phone.

Registered participants must be available to answer a call from a volunteer attorney between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
