Lawrence County Boys & Girls Club still accepting summer program registrations

BEDFORD – Summer programming through the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County is in full swing, and families still have time to register their children for enriching, educational, and fun opportunities.

Enrollment remains open for Summer Learning Labs in Bedford and Mitchell, which begin June 16 and run through July 18. The free program operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Burris Elementary and the Thornton Teen Center. It is open to youth entering kindergarten through sixth grade for the 2024–25 school year and features a mix of reading, math, club programs, and meals.

“We encourage families to register as soon as possible, as spots are limited and filling fast,” the Club said in a release.

Meanwhile, the Summer Camp at the Club’s Limestone Unit in Bedford is already underway and continues through July 25. The camp runs weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and includes breakfast, lunch, field trips, and in-club activities.

Weekly registration for Summer Camp closes each Friday at 11:59 p.m. for the following week, but families also have the option to pay $15 per day at drop-off, as long as their child has an active Club membership. Advance notice for daily attendance is not required.

All programs are open to students who completed grades K–6 this May. Children who just graduated sixth grade are still eligible to attend.
