BEDFORD — The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County is fundraising for the annual Ugly Duck Derby, with a special drawing for a trip to Siesta Key, Florida, scheduled for this Thursday, May 8th, at 5:30 p.m. The drawing will be broadcast live on the club’s Facebook page.
Coinciding with the drawing is the deadline for a special ticket promotion: 40 tickets for $100. Organizers are urging community members to take advantage of this offer, which remains available until Thursday’s drawing time.
The club reports significant progress in ticket sales, having already distributed over 5,000 tickets. Volunteers are encouraged to continue their efforts, and additional tickets can be provided upon request. Ticket numbers can be shared electronically for immediate sales, with physical tickets to follow.
The Boys & Girls Club is offering multiple payment options for ticket purchasers:
- Cash or Check: Preferred method due to no processing fees.
- Invoice: Available upon request with a name and email address. Invoices now include a link for credit card payments, offering a lower fee option compared to other card methods.
- Square: Payments can be made over the phone by calling the club directly (contact information provided to sellers) or via the “donate” link on the club’s website: https://bgclawco.org/. Those using the website are asked to notify the club to ensure proper coding and documentation.
- Venmo: A new payment option is now available at the handle @bgclawco or via a QR code. Purchasers using Venmo are also asked to notify the club.
