Hope Resource Center offers DIY workshop series for new fathers

BEDFORD – The Hope Resource Center in Streator is launching a new workshop series aimed at equipping new fathers with essential “dad skills” and fostering connections through hands-on projects. The “DIY Dads Workshop” will be held every second Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The program is designed to help fathers gain confidence and build connections by learning practical skills such as basic auto repairs, home maintenance, and outdoor skills. The Hope Resource Center emphasizes the supportive brotherhood aspect of the workshops, aiming to create a community focused on empowering men in their roles as fathers.

A significant incentive for participants is a free tool box offered at their first workshop. Furthermore, attendees will receive an additional tool at each subsequent workshop they attend, gradually building their own toolkit. Breakfast will also be provided at each session.

Interested fathers are encouraged to register online or via email at nateharris@hoperesourcecenters.org. The Hope Resource Center believes this initiative will provide valuable skills and a supportive network for men as they navigate fatherhood.
