BEDFORD – The Men’s Warming Shelter, a vital resource for homeless men in the Bedford community, is seeking financial support to continue its essential services.
Established in 2014, the shelter has provided a safe and welcoming environment for hundreds of men over the years. In 2021, the shelter incorporated as SARAH/ Stone City Alliance for Recovery and Hope, Inc., allowing for greater stability and expansion of services.
The shelter offers a range of essential services, including:
- Safe shelter
- Meals
- Clothing
- Case management
As homelessness continues to rise in the area, the Men’s Warming Shelter requires donations to maintain its operations and expand its capacity. Contributions can be made by mail to:
Men’s Warming Shelter P.O. Box 430 Bedford, IN 47421
To raise awareness and funds for the shelter, the Alliance is hosting the annual Spaghetti on the Square fundraiser on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bedford Harp Commons. Tickets are $10 per person or $25 for a family of four and can be purchased in advance at various locations around town.
The mission of The Stone City Alliance for Recovery and Hope is to provide a safe, warm, and welcoming place for homeless men to stay during the winter, and provide food, clothing, and other necessary resources to all of our neighbors in need year-round. Their mission is to improve our community by connecting those in need with resources to strengthen their housing and improve their lives.
With homelessness on the rise in our country and community, financial support is needed now more than ever.
