Jackie “Jack” Dale Rainey, 86, of Bedford, died at 7:09 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 7, 1940, in Bedford, he was the son of Virgil and Ruth (McCain) Rainey. Jack retired from Ron Speer Lumber, where he was a truck driver. He married Linda L. Bennett on May 10, 1997, and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of Bedford; six children, Brad Rainey and wife Michelle, Scott Rainey and wife Brenda, Brian Rainey and wife Lori, Jackie Howe and husband Rick, Amber Branham and husband Mike, and Sara Harrell and husband Brandon; a daughter-in-law, Karen Rainey; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters: Judy Hardman and husband Dave, and Martha Kennedy; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Shannon Rainey and Donnie Rainey, and two grandsons, Nick Rainey and Logan Rainey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, November 2nd, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary, with Brad Rainey officiating. Burial will follow in the Tunnelton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1st, and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday, November 2nd, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
