INDIANA — Indiana fifth graders are being invited to look toward the future of space exploration through a new essay competition connected to Purdue University’s Purdue 1 mission.
The competition asks students to imagine what role they could play on a future space team and how their own interests and skills could contribute to space exploration.
The contest is part of Purdue’s efforts to connect Indiana students with the university’s work in space exploration and inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and explorers.
Students participating in the competition will have an opportunity to think beyond today’s technology and consider what future missions could look like.
The Purdue 1 mission is part of the university’s broader work in space exploration and research. Purdue has a long history of involvement in space science and is known for its connection to astronauts and aerospace research.
The competition gives fifth graders an opportunity to combine creativity with their interests in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and other areas.
Students interested in participating should review the official Purdue competition information for essay requirements, submission instructions, and deadlines.
