MITCHELL — A local man faces a residential entry charge after police responded to reports of a prowler trying to break into vehicles and a home on Juliet Lane, according to court documents filed by the Lawrence County Police Department.

Blue Christianson, 38, of Mitchell, was named in a probable cause affidavit filed by Officer Augustus Hogan following an investigation into an incident on the evening of Sept. 11, 2026.
According to the affidavit, dispatchers received an initial 911 call around 8:18 p.m. regarding a suspicious man running around homes and trying to open doors of parked vehicles near Tarry Park Lane. While officers were en route, a second emergency call came from a resident at 148 Juliet Lane.
The resident told dispatchers that Christianson—who had previously been served a trespass warning for the property—had forced his way inside her home, damaged interior property, and punched her mailbox.
Officers with the Mitchell Police Department arrived on the scene first and located Christianson standing outside a parked pickup truck on the roadway in front of the residence. When Lawrence County officers arrived, Christianson claimed he was only in the area to return a dog belonging to the resident, which he said had followed him to his truck.
In an interview with law enforcement, the resident stated that upon returning home from work, she noticed the bedroom light was turned off. When she attempted to enter the front door, someone inside forcefully held it shut. She retreated to her vehicle and called 911, after which she observed Christianson exit the front door, grab a bicycle from behind the home, damage her mailbox on his way out, and leave the property with her dog following behind.
During questioning after being advised of his Miranda rights, Christianson denied entering the home, going near parked cars, or causing any property damage, claiming he was simply riding his bicycle in the neighborhood. While Christianson initially alleged he had text messages from the homeowner inviting him over to assist with yard work, he declined to show the messages to investigating officers.
Police charged Christianson with Residential Entry, a Level 6 felony under Indiana Code 35-43-2-1.5. He was not immediately arrested at the scene following the initial field investigation.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This article is based on the information provided in the probable cause affidavit and does not represent a final determination of guilt or innocence.
