BATTLE GROUND – Bedford North Lawrence finished 17th in the final round of the IHSAA state finals during girls high school golf action on Saturday.
The Stars, making their fifth consecutive trip to the final stage of the state tournament series, carded a second-day 383 for a two-round total of 770 in the 18-team field.
“The state finals, every year, tends to bring all the nerves out,” BNL coach Carly Stigall said. “There were tons of shots that I know each girl wishes they could save, but I’m proud of these kids. Not many people thought they were capable of coming back for a fifth consecutive year, but they kept their heads in the game and accomplished all the postseason goals we had.”
Sammie Nusbaum paced BNL with rounds of 85-88, while Emma Voris posted rounds of 87-89. Other scorers for the Stars included Kadynn Canada (94-99), Bella Warren (111-107) and Bella Montgomery (114-114).
Zionsville won the team title with a two-day score of 589, finishing 26 shots ahead of Carmel.
Taylor Snively of Zionsville was the individual medalist with rounds of 67-71, carding a 6-under 138.
