LAWRENCE COUNTY — The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County is getting ready for another season on the court, and basketball registration is now open for boys and girls in Pre-K through 12th grade.
The 2026-2027 basketball program offers players an opportunity to learn the game, develop their skills and enjoy being part of a team.
Pre-K registration is $35. The Pre-K program is instructional, with players practicing together each week rather than being divided into teams. As the season progresses, players will have opportunities to scrimmage during practices.
For players in K-12th grade, registration is $60. Participants will be divided into groups based on the number of registrations in each age group.
Registration is open through November 6 at 11:59 p.m.
A skills assessment will be held November 10 at 6:30 p.m. for players in 2nd through 12th grade.
Games are scheduled to begin December 1. Pre-K through 3rd grade will play on Saturdays, while 4th through 12th grade games will be held Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays. The season is scheduled to end February 11, although dates are subject to change due to weather.
The Boys & Girls Club is also looking for volunteer coaches. Coaches receive 50% off their child(ren)’s registration fee. Those interested can contact athletics@bgclc.org or call 812-279-6123 for more information and the discount.
Parents can register through the Parent Portal or find more information about the program through the Boys & Girls Club’s basketball page.
