BEDFORD — There is still time to lace up, grab a pair of running shoes, and sign up for the 2026 Limestone Capital Half Marathon, 5K, and 1-mile walk presented to you by McIntyre Brothers in Bedford.
The annual event is set for Saturday, Oct. 3, bringing runners and walkers together for a morning of competition, fitness, and community spirit.

Organizers are encouraging anyone considering participating to register now rather than waiting until race day.
The Limestone Capital Half Marathon offers a 13.1-mile challenge for experienced runners, while the 5K and 1-mile events provide options for participants of different ages and ability levels.
Whether someone is an experienced distance runner, a casual walker, or simply looking for a way to get active and be part of a local event, organizers say there is an option available.

The half marathon begins at 8:05 a.m., followed by the 5K at 8:10 a.m. and the 1-mile walk at 8:15 a.m. Ainsley’s Angels participants will begin at 8 a.m.
The races begin and finish near the Milwaukee Depot at 14th and J Streets in Bedford.
Participants will receive race shirts (if registered by the deadline) and finisher medals, while the half marathon will feature cash prizes and awards for top finishers and age groups.
The event also provides an opportunity to showcase Bedford and Lawrence County to visitors from outside the area. Last year’s race drew more than 400 participants from nine states.
The Limestone Capital Half Marathon is more than a race, however. Proceeds benefit youth programs through the Bedford Parks Department, allowing participants to support local recreational opportunities while taking part in the event.
Registration is available here through the Limestone Capital Half Marathon’s registration page. Those interested in participating are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.
With race day approaching, organizers hope to see a strong turnout of local runners and walkers alongside participants traveling to Bedford for the event.
For those who have been thinking about participating, now is the time to make it official, register for the race, and start getting ready for Oct. 3.
