VEEDERSBURG — Ferguson Lumber Corporation, a fifth-generation family business serving West Central Indiana, has been awarded two of the home improvement industry’s highest distinctions for 2026.
The Veedersburg-based company was selected as Indiana’s 2026 Hardware All Star by Hardware + Building Supply Dealer (HBSDealer) magazine. Additionally, Ferguson Lumber was named the 2026 Independent ProDealer of the Year by HBSDealer in partnership with the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA).
The dual honors recognize the company’s 150-year legacy and its ongoing evolution to serve regional contractors, homeowners, and local communities.
Decades of Customer Stewardship
HBSDealer’s Hardware All Star program highlights top independent hardware and building supply businesses across the nation. The publication cited Ferguson Lumber’s deep roots in West Central Indiana, sustained family ownership, and the active leadership of fifth-generation President Joe Collings.
“The success of the company has been due to the principle that we have always taken a genuine interest in the customer,” Collings said. “Our entire staff works to make sure each and every customer point of contact is both positive and productive. The Independent ProDealer of the Year award celebrates high-performing independent lumber and building material dealers nationwide that show excellence in customer stewardship, workplace culture, employee commitment, and industry leadership.

Collings, who has also served in industry leadership roles with the NLBMDA, emphasized his commitment to keeping the business strong for future generations.
