Monroe County Democrats seek poll workers and travel board members for November Election

BLOOMINGTON With the upcoming general election this November, the Monroe County Democratic Party is making a call for community members to step forward and serve as election workers.

Party leaders are actively recruiting individuals to fill essential positions to help ensure a smooth, secure, and accessible voting process across Monroe County.

Open Positions

The party is looking to recruit dedicated workers for two main roles:

  • Early Voting Workers: Early voting staff play a key role at polling sites during early voting periods. Responsibilities include checking in voters, verifying voter registration status, ensuring voters receive the correct ballots, assisting with voting machinery, and answering general questions to maintain an orderly and welcoming environment.
  • Travel Board Members: Working as part of a bipartisan team, travel board members carry voting materials directly to eligible voters who cannot visit a polling site in person, such as homebound residents or individuals residing in care facilities. Travel board teams assist voters in filling out their ballots privately and securely before returning them according to official election procedures.

How to Get Involved

Serving as an election worker provides a hands-on opportunity to support democratic participation and local civic operations.

Interested individuals are encouraged to sign up by emailing Monroe County Democratic Party Chair Chrissie Geels at chair@monroedems.org.
