BEDFORD — After completing an inpatient program for substance use and mental health treatment, Faith came to Becky’s Place ready to begin rebuilding her life.
Faith had struggled with her mental health for many years and had also survived a serious accident that nearly cost her life, leaving her with long-term injuries. Through her experiences, she has become a strong advocate for finding the right treatment, staying consistent with medication and care, and building a reliable support system.
At Becky’s Place, Faith quickly began taking meaningful steps toward independence. She found a job at a local fast-food restaurant, where having a daily routine and renewed sense of purpose brought joy and stability to her life. While working, she carefully saved her money and placed her name on every housing waiting list she could find.
Her determination eventually paid off.
Faith was approved for an apartment through a local mental health organization that provides supportive independent living services. Today, she has a place to call home and the continued support of a case manager who checks in regularly and helps ensure she has the resources she needs to continue moving forward.
For Faith, however, finding housing was only part of her journey.
She has shared that throughout her life, she experienced many hardships and often lacked the kind of support system that many people take for granted. At Becky’s Place, she found something she had been missing—a true sense of community. She formed meaningful relationships and built what she describes as a family of support.
“Having a support team and family is all I could ask for,” Faith says.
Today, Faith is living independently while remaining connected to the people and resources that have supported her along the way. She is also using her own experiences to encourage others. When she meets someone struggling with their mental health, Faith offers advice, hope, and understanding by sharing her own journey and reminding others that progress is possible.
Faith’s story is a powerful example of what can happen when determination is met with safe housing, consistent care, and a supportive community.
Through the support of donors and community members, Becky’s Place continues to provide people like Faith with the opportunity to take meaningful steps forward, build stability, and create a brighter future.
