Greencastle man arrested for sexual misconduct with a minor

PUTNAM COUNTY – Indiana State Police initiated a criminal investigation in August 2026 after receiving information that a female juvenile had been sexually abused in Putnam County. 

The investigation revealed that Tyler Wright, 26, of Greencastle, Indiana, allegedly engaged in sexual misconduct with a female juvenile.   

After reviewing the investigation, the Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office requested an arrest warrant for Wright.  They were granted an arrest warrant by the Putnam County Superior Court, and Wright was taken into custody by Putnam County Deputy Tanner Nicholson today without incident.

Wright is facing two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor: intercourse and engaging in other sexual conduct, Level 4 Felonies, and sexual misconduct with a minor committed by a person at least 21 years old, Level 5 felony  

Investigating officers were Indiana State Police Trooper Detectives Colton Maynor, James Crisp, and Daniel Magnabosco, of the Putnamville State Police Post. Assisting agencies were Krista Miller of the Putnam County Department of Child Services and Susie’s Place.  

Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent until proven guilty through a fair and due legal process. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
