INDIANA — With the arrival of the fall hunting season across Indiana, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is encouraging hunters to complete a few essential preparation steps to ensure a safe and successful experience in the field.
State wildlife officials have streamlined the preparation process into three primary steps for both novice and experienced hunters preparing for the 2026–2027 season:
- Download the GoOutdoorsIN App: Hunters can download the official app on iOS or Android devices to store digital copies of their licenses directly on their smartphones and conveniently check in harvests while in the field.
- Purchase Licenses and Stamps Early: DNR recommends purchasing licenses well ahead of planned trips. Sportsmen and women can utilize pre-configured activity packages or the popular deer bundle to purchase all necessary licenses and stamps in a single transaction. Those unsure of specific requirements can use the online Sport License Finder tool.
- Obtain a Hard Card: Hunters have the option to purchase one of this year’s collectable license hard cards to carry physically while hunting.
