KOSCIUSKO COUNTY – On August 14, 2026, at approximately 6:55 p.m., the Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team (ERT), in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), executed a search warrant at 508 W First St., Milford, IN.
As a result, Jefferson Velasquez Pedrosa, 32-years-old of Berwyn, IL, was arrested on outstanding federal warrants for bank burglary and bank theft. Pedrosa was lodged at the St Joseph County Jail. Winyerber Acosta, 19-years-old, of Chicago, IL, fled the residence on foot but was located approximately two hours later in a wooded area approximately .25 miles southwest of the residence. Acosta was taken into custody without further incident. Acosta was arrested on an outstanding warrant in Cook County, IL, for aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon and was lodged at the Kosciusko County Jail.
The Indiana State Police were assisted by the FBI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Indiana Department of Natural Resources – Law Enforcement Division, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Warsaw Police Department, Milford Police Department, Syracuse Police Department, and the Silver Lake Police Department.
