BLOOMINGTON — Time is running out to grab tickets for the 4th Annual Blue Jean Ball, a benefit event hosted by United Way of South Central Indiana to kick off its fall fund drive and support programs serving communities throughout the region.
The event will take place Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Whippoorwill Hill, located at 1780 E Rayletown Rd, Bloomington. Organizers are encouraging anyone interested in attending to purchase tickets soon, as only a limited number of tickets remain.
Tickets must be purchased by Thursday, Sept. 10, or until they sell out. No tickets will be available at the door, making advance registration especially important for those hoping to attend.
The Blue Jean Ball offers a relaxed evening where guests can put on their boots and blue jeans and enjoy live entertainment, food, drinks and a variety of opportunities to win prizes while supporting a local cause.
The evening will feature live country music from indie country singer-songwriter Rachael Lee James, who will perform from 6 to 7 p.m. Organizers say her authentic vocals and high-energy performance will bring plenty of energy to the evening and get guests ready to do some two-stepping.
Guests can also enjoy dinner from Great White Smoke BBQ, followed by a sundae bar from Bruster’s Ice Cream. Wine from Oliver Winery and beer from Upland Brewing Company will also be available through the cash bar.
Along with the food and entertainment, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction and raffle featuring a variety of items.
More importantly, proceeds from the Blue Jean Ball will support United Way of South Central Indiana’s work to connect local residents with opportunities and resources that can help create greater financial stability.
According to United Way, nearly half of all families in South Central Indiana struggle to make ends meet, despite working hard to support themselves. Many families are living paycheck to paycheck while dealing with the rising costs of basic necessities.
The organization’s work focuses on helping connect individuals and families with resources related to financial stability, food and shelter, youth opportunities, and healthy communities.
With tickets already running low, residents interested in attending are encouraged to get their tickets now rather than waiting until the deadline. Once the remaining tickets are gone, there will be no opportunity to purchase them at the door.
