MITCHELL — Former professional basketball player JJ Eubanks, known for his prolific scoring ability, is set to host a youth basketball camp in Mitchell next month.
The JJ Eubanks Basketball Camp is scheduled for August 28-30 and will be held at the Mitchell Community School Field House. The camp is open to all boys and girls in grades 3rd through 8th. Registration ends on August 19th.
Registration for the camp is currently open, with a cost of $50 per player. Interested participants can scan the QR code featured above.
The three-day camp will offer a comprehensive basketball experience:
- Friday, August 28th: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Saturday, August 29th: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Lunch Included)
- Sunday, August 30th: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Lunch Included)
Campers will receive instruction from a distinguished coaching staff led by Eubanks himself, along with other former professional players. The coaching lineup also includes Mitchell High School’s boys and girls basketball coaches, offering a unique opportunity for young athletes to learn from both experienced professionals and local mentors.
Eubanks was a scoring sensation during his professional career, highlighted by scoring 101 points in a single game and maintaining a career average of 26.8 points.

All proceeds from the JJ Eubanks Basketball Camp will go towards supporting the local Mitchell community through The Heart of MVP Foundation. The initiative is a new extension of Magical Vacation Planners (MVP) in Mitchell, intended to support local citizens in need. Eubanks spoke of the ways The Heart of MVP has given back to the community in just its first year alone:
