GREENE COUNTY— A 16-year-old teen who was reported missing in eastern Greene County on Thursday has been located and is safe, local law enforcement confirmed.
Elijah Austin had been reported as a runaway juvenile after he was last seen Thursday, August 6, 2026, walking northbound along State Road 45 near East Sparks Road toward Bloomington.
Following public alerts and active search efforts led by the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, authorities issued an official update confirming that Elijah was found safe.
Deputy Tanner Carter led the investigation for the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, working alongside regional public safety agencies to locate the teen.
Sheriff’s officials expressed gratitude to community members and nearby law enforcement partners who assisted in sharing information and remaining alert during the search.
