LAGRANGE COUNTY — The LaGrange County Chamber of Commerce and the LaGrange County Convention & Visitors Bureau are proud to announce Arlene Thompson as LaGrange County’s newest representative in Ball State University’s County Ambassador Program.
The program connects Ball State students with their home counties, allowing them to promote local businesses, attractions, events and opportunities through social media, campus organizations and peer-to-peer outreach.
Thompson is a lifelong LaGrange County resident who grew up primarily in Howe. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science with majors in media and political science through Ball State University’s Honors College and expects to graduate in May 2029. She serves as a news anchor, reporter and associate producer for NewsLink Indiana and is a member of the inaugural class of Howe Legacy Scholars.
As LaGrange County’s ambassador, Thompson plans to create news-style videos featuring interviews, voice-over narration and on-location reporting. Her stories will highlight locally owned businesses, parks and nature areas, historic landmarks, seasonal events and the people who bring the county to life.
“I hope to showcase what small-town LaGrange County has to offer and introduce others to the people who make it special,” Thompson said. “I’m excited to use storytelling and reporting to share the experiences found throughout the county.”
