Obituary: Dianna Sue Cooley

July 11, 1946 – July 28, 2026

Dianna Sue Cooley, 80, of Bloomington, passed away on July 28, 2026, at her residence.

Born July 11, 1946, she was the daughter of Vasel and Doris Jean (Harper) Eads. Dianna married Steven Howard Cooley on July 22, 1966, at Green Valley, Brown County. She was a member of New Harmony Church and loved studying the Bible and Jesus. She loved to sew, crochet, play cards, and do word searches. She also enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Steven; children, Rachel (Edward) Harden and Andy Cooley, both of Monroe County; grandchildren, Emily (Joe) Richardson, Steven Harden, Michelle Harden; siblings, Shirley (Philip) Hartman, and Colbert (Joyce) Eads, both of Lawrence County; sister-in-law, Judy West, and brother-in-law Harold Cooley; a great-granddaughter, Adriona Harden; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law, Roger West, and mother and father-in-law, Dorothy and Howard Cooley.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31st, in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary, with Bruce Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30th, at Day & Carter Mortuary.
