BEDFORD — Local bar service expert Petty’s Pour Decisions has announced it will host a free community Luau Party on July 13 at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds in an effort to revitalize community spirit and support local first responders.
The event, which runs from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., marks a coordinated push to bring energetic neighborhood gatherings back to the fairgrounds, a venue once considered the premier social hub for the county.

“Remember when the fairgrounds were the place to be?” Said Petty’s Pour Decisions owner, Erin Petty. “When everyone came out, laughed, danced, ate too much, and made memories with friends and neighbors? Well, we’re giving it our best shot.”
While admission to the grounds and entertainment are completely free to the general public, the luau serves as a critical fundraiser for local emergency services. The Marion Township Fire Department will serve a traditional Hawaiian-style meal in the evening, with 100 percent of the food proceeds going directly to support the station’s equipment, facilities, and community safety efforts.
To keep the atmosphere lively, organizers have introduced a packed schedule of competitive activities and interactive games, with prizes awarded to top participants. Attendees can compete in a cornhole tournament designed for two-player teams, test their agility under the limbo bar, or play “hot coconut”, a tropical variation of the classic musical chairs game. The evening will also feature a structured dance-off complete with dedicated age categories so everyone can join the competition.
Younger attendees will have dedicated entertainment as well, featuring an inflatable bounce house on-site specifically for children.

As the host entity, Petty’s Pour Decisions will manage the evening’s dedicated bar service, providing a selection of beers and specialty cocktails. Additional entertainment for the four-hour gathering includes a live disc jockey spinning popular musical hits and a professional photo booth operated by KT Photography to capture memories for families and attendees.
Organizers are actively encouraging the community to embrace the tropical theme fully, inviting guests to don traditional Hawaiian shirts for the festivities.
Beyond fundraising, the hosts emphasized that the event aims to provide an organic space for residents to connect outside of typical retail routines. They hope the luau gives families an opportunity to laugh, neighbors a chance to converse, and community members a vibrant reason to get out of the house, all in the spirit of giving back to our local first responders.
