BEDFORD — Families searching for an affordable, high-quality preschool experience are invited to learn more about Tiny Pillars Preschool during a Kona Ice Open House on Saturday, July 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County, 2009 19th St. in Bedford.

The free community event will give parents and prospective students the opportunity to meet the preschool’s teachers, tour the classroom, explore the program’s learning environment and amenities, and enjoy a complimentary Kona Ice while learning about enrollment opportunities for the upcoming school year.

The open house comes just weeks before Tiny Pillars Preschool opens its doors this August, offering a kindergarten readiness program for children ages 4 and 5. The preschool was created to help young learners develop the academic, social, and emotional skills needed for a successful transition into kindergarten.
In conjunction with the open house, Tiny Pillars Preschool has announced a significant reduction in tuition to make early childhood education more accessible for Lawrence County families. Monthly tuition has been reduced to $125 per month, while families also have the option to pay $1,000 annually. The preschool has also expanded enrollment and announced that additional spots are now available.

Classes will meet Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. The curriculum combines early literacy, foundational math concepts and social-emotional learning through hands-on, play-based activities designed to build confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning. Students will also work toward important kindergarten readiness milestones, including letter and number recognition, fine motor development, communication skills, and positive social interaction.
Leading the classroom is Loren Proffitt, who brings more than six years of kindergarten teaching experience. Program leaders say her background in kindergarten readiness and early childhood education provides students with a strong foundation as they prepare for elementary school.
To enroll, children must be at least 4 years old by Aug. 1 and be potty trained with the ability to independently manage basic self-care tasks, including using the restroom, washing their hands, dressing themselves and communicating their needs.
During the July 12 open house, families will have the opportunity to ask questions about the curriculum, meet the teaching staff, see the preschool space firsthand, and learn more about the registration process.
The Kona Ice Open House will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County, 2009 19th St. in Bedford. Admission is free, and all interested families are welcome to attend. Organizers encourage parents to attend the event and secure one of the newly available enrollment spots before the school year begins.
