LAWRENCE COUNTY – The Lawrence County Republican Central Committee has announced an official caucus to appoint a replacement for a vacancy on the Marshall Township Advisory Board.

The caucus is scheduled for Friday, July 31, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Marshall Township Volunteer Fire Department, located at 75 Fire Barn Lane in Bedford.
The meeting was triggered by the upcoming resignation of current Advisory Board member Chase Cummings, who will be relocating outside of Marshall Township in the near future. Republican Party Vice-Chairwoman Connie Koch will serve as the Chairman of the Caucus to oversee the voting process.
Candidate Filing Requirements
To be eligible for appointment, interested Republican candidates must be in good standing and reside within Marshall Township. Candidates are required to submit two mandatory state forms:
- Form CEB-5: (Declaration of Candidacy for Precinct Committeeman or State Convention Delegate / Caucus Candidate)
- Form CAN-12: (Statement of Economic Interests for Local and School Board Offices)
Both completed documents must be turned in directly to Vice-Chairwoman Koch no later than Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. State law mandates that these filings be submitted at least 72 hours before the scheduled start of the caucus.
All qualified Republican Precinct Committeemen within Marshall Township are eligible to cast a ballot in the caucus.
Per state party rules, if an eligible Precinct Committeeman is unable to attend the meeting in person, their designated Vice-Precinct Committeeman may cast a proxy vote on their behalf. However, this proxy is valid only if the Precinct Committeeman formally completes and submits the required PX-1 Form to caucus leadership before the proceedings officially begin.
