INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Mike Braun completed an extensive week of travel across Indiana last week, meeting with law enforcement, local officials, employers, health care providers, and community leaders in nine Hoosier communities, mostly in Northeast Indiana.
The Governor’s travels included a major jobs announcement in Fort Wayne, where Do it Best Group announced the formal relocation of the True Value world headquarters from Chicago to Fort Wayne. Do it Best Group, which is headquartered in Fort Wayne and reports nearly $6 billion in annual sales, together with True Value, supports thousands of independently owned hardware, lumber, and building-material retailers across the United States and in more than 60 countries.

“Last week, I heard directly from Hoosiers about public safety, roads, energy, workforce training, and the issues affecting families, and shared our wins on jobs and wages and on making life more affordable. The announcement that Do it Best is bringing the True Value headquarters to Fort Wayne is a big win for northeast Indiana and another reminder that Indiana is open for business,” said Governor Mike Braun.
Governor Braun began the week in Bloomington, where he joined Indiana State Police leaders for an impaired-driving enforcement announcement ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend. The Governor encouraged Hoosiers to plan ahead, use a designated driver, and make safe decisions as families travel and celebrate Independence Day.
On Tuesday, Governor Braun traveled to Crawfordsville for an Indiana Department of Transportation Community Crossings announcement. The Governor joined local officials and INDOT leadership to recognize state investments that will help communities improve local roads, strengthen transportation infrastructure, and support economic growth.
Wednesday was an extensive day of travel through northeast Indiana.
Governor Braun began in Gas City with Mayor Bill Rock Jr. before traveling to Fort Wayne for the Do it Best and True Value headquarters announcement.

The Governor then visited the Community Health Center of LaGrange County in Shipshewana, where he toured the facility and participated in a discussion about the center’s work serving local families.
In Steuben County, Governor Braun toured Cardinal Glass in Fremont and met with business and community leaders to discuss the company’s operations and local energy needs. He then traveled to Garrett in Noble County for a visit to Enzyme Solutions and a discussion about regional lake and water-quality priorities.

Governor Braun concluded Wednesday in Auburn, where he met with local law enforcement officials, animal control leaders, and community advocates for a roundtable discussion on puppy mills, animal welfare, and enforcement issues.

On Thursday, Governor Braun joined Wabash Mayor Scott Long, local officials, and community partners for the ribbon-cutting of the City of Wabash Railroad Overpass Project. The completed overpass is a significant local investment in transportation safety, connectivity, and future economic development.
