Sparklight Awards $5,500 Charitable Giving Fund Grant to the Vincennes Community Food Pantry

VINCENNES — Local families, seniors, and individuals experiencing food insecurity will have greater access to food assistance through a $5,500 grant from Sparklight® to the Vincennes Community Food Pantry. Awarded through the Sparklight Charitable Giving Fund, the grant will help the nonprofit respond to growing demand and continue providing food to community members in need.

During its recent grant cycle, Sparklight awarded more than $125,000 in grants to 28 nonprofit organizations across the cities and towns it serves. By investing in programs that support children and families, address food insecurity, expand educational opportunities, and build critical life skills, the funding is helping improve lives and strengthen local communities.

“Food banks are seeing unprecedented need, and the Vincennes Community Food Pantry is working every day making sure area families don’t go hungry,” said Travis Harr, Sparklight Senior Regional Director, North Central. “Sparklight is proud to stand alongside them as they serve our community and help improve lives during these tough times.”

Pantry leaders said the grant will have an immediate impact on its ability to serve vulnerable residents.

“Our all-volunteer pantry works tirelessly to fight food insecurity in Vincennes and Decker,” said Melissa Hendrix, Vincennes Community Food Pantry Treasurer. “This generous grant from Sparklight will help us ensure local seniors, families, and children in need have ongoing access to nutritious food and essential household supplies. We are grateful for Sparklight’s support and its commitment to strengthening the well-being of our community.”

Sparklight’s Charitable Giving Fund focuses on initiatives that create lasting, local impact, including education and digital literacy, hunger relief, and community development. Since the Fund’s inception in 2020, Sparklight has awarded more than $1.3 million in grants to more than 300 nonprofits that make a difference in the lives of those they serve.

Nonprofit organizations may apply for a grant during open application periods each spring and fall. Applications for the fall 2026 cycle will be accepted Oct. 1‒31, 2026.
