MITCHELL — The historic Mitchell Opera House is set to host a weekend of musical nostalgia this month, featuring a next-generation country music tribute followed by a performance from a legendary regional rock ’n’ roll band.
The two-night event kicks off Friday, June 19, 2026, with “Twitty and Lynn,” a tribute to the iconic country music duo of Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. The performance will be delivered by their grandchildren, Tre Twitty and Tayla Lynn, who are carrying on their family legacies by performing their grandparents’ greatest hits.

In addition to the music, the show features behind-the-scenes storytelling. Tayla Lynn will share personal memories of traveling on the road with her grandmother, detailing how Loretta Lynn penned country classics on yellow legal pads. Tre Twitty will bring Conway Twitty’s smooth style back to the stage, including an interactive moment where one audience member will be invited onstage to be serenaded.
Tickets for the June 19 country showcase are $55 for adults and $38 for children age 12 and under.
The musical weekend continues Saturday, June 20, 2026, with a performance by Louisville’s musical ambassadors, The Monarchs.

Formed in 1961 by a group of Louisville high school friends, the band rose from basement rehearsals to national prominence. The Monarchs secured a regional chart-topper in 1962 with a song written by James Brown, followed by their 1964 national hit, “Look Homeward Angel,” which spent 13 weeks on the Billboard charts and reached No. 1 in major markets across the United States and Canada.
Over their six-decade career, The Monarchs have toured with Dick Clark’s Caravan of Stars and shared stages with rock ’n’ roll icons such as the Beach Boys, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and The Everly Brothers. The band continues to bring their signature “oldies” style of good-time rock ’n’ roll to generations of fans.
Tickets for the June 20 rock ’n’ roll concert are $30 for adults and $15 for children age 12 and under.
