BEDFORD — A vital local resource that supports thousands of Lawrence County residents with essential household supplies has officially moved into a new home.

The Bedford Community Care Center (BCCC) announced it has completed its relocation to a new facility at 1135 N Street in Bedford. The move transitions the organization away from its longtime headquarters at 1018 J Street, a property that had been generously provided for years by Mullis Petroleum.
The center provides all of its resources, including food, clothing, and vital household items, entirely free of charge to any residents in need.
The relocation comes on the heels of a historically busy year for the non-profit organization. According to internal data, the BCCC extended aid to nearly 2,800 families in 2025 alone. That outreach accounted for more than 9,600 individual residents who received clothing, nutritional support, and domestic necessities.

The BCCC was originally established in 1987 as a major collaborative ministry spearheaded by three regional churches: the Central Church of Christ in Bedford, the Mitchell Church of Christ, and the Southland Church of Christ in Bedford.
While it began as a tri-church cooperative effort, the operational landscape has shifted over the decades. Today, the care center is funded, staffed, and supported solely by volunteers and members of the Central Church of Christ, which is located at 1402 12th Street.
Operating Hours and Updates
Volunteers have already begun welcoming families into the new N Street location. To accommodate varying work schedules, the center has established both morning and evening distribution blocks:
- Tuesday Mornings: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Thursday Evenings: 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
To better communicate with the community regarding seasonal closures, urgent donation needs, or volunteer opportunities, the center has also launched its first official social media presence. Residents are encouraged to follow their newly created Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BedfordCCC for real-time announcements.
