Gifted Hands Academy celebrates 5-year anniversary and grand opening of new location in Hammond

HAMMOND – On June 1st, Gifted Hands Academy celebrated its 5-year anniversary and cut the ribbon to open its new location at 3536 169th St. in Hammond, Indiana. Led by health professional and entrepreneur Tiffany Stokes, the building had been closed for 9 years. She and her team worked tirelessly to get the building renovated and fully operational.

Representatives from the Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, the City of Hammond, the Hammond City Council, and the Black Chamber of Commerce of NWI were on hand to deliver remarks. Stokes closed out the ceremony, acknowledging the overwhelming support received during the journey to open the building.

“God has done a great work through me and blessed me with an awesome team,” said Stokes. “I also have a village of family, friends, donors, and supporters who helped my vision come to life.”

Students can now earn certifications in phlebotomy, EKG, pharmacy tech, and other health-related skills. The facility has a daycare center so that students have a place for their little ones to learn and play while they are in class.

The new location also houses the Ida Bell Foundation named in memory of Stokes’ late mother.
