INDIANA — Grill and griddle giant Blackstone Products has issued a voluntary, nationwide recall for one of its popular seasoning blends after a supplier warned that a key ingredient could be contaminated with Salmonella.
The recall specifically impacts Blackstone Parmesan Ranch Seasoning, a product distributed to retail shelves across the country.

According to the corporate recall notice, the decision was triggered by a separate, upstream recall initiated by California Dairies, Inc., which flagged potential Salmonella contamination in a batch of its dry milk powder. That milk powder was supplied to a third-party manufacturer and subsequently blended into Blackstone’s proprietary seasoning mix.
To date, Blackstone has not received any reports of consumer illnesses or adverse reactions tied to the product.
How to Identify the Recalled Product
The recall is strictly confined to the 7.3-ounce bottles of the Parmesan Ranch flavor. Consumers can check the back and bottom of their seasoning containers for the following matching manufacturing details:
- Product Name: Blackstone Parmesan Ranch Seasoning (7.3 oz)
- Item Number:
#4106 - UPC / Location: Lot codes are printed directly on the bottom of the plastic bottles.
The company has identified three specific manufacturing lots subject to immediate disposal:
- Lot Code:
2025-43282(Best If Used By: July 2, 2027) - Lot Code:
2025-46172(Best If Used By: Aug. 5, 2027) - Lot Code:
2026-54751(Best If Used By: Aug. 12, 2027)
The affected batches were distributed nationally through Walmart retail storefronts and were also available for direct purchase online via Blackstone’s official website. No other Blackstone rubs, sauces, or seasonings are included in this enforcement action.
Understanding the Salmonella Risk
Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal gastrointestinal infections.
While healthy adults infected with Salmonella often experience short-term symptoms—including high fever, severe diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramping—it poses a significantly higher risk to vulnerable populations. Young children, elderly individuals, and anyone with a compromised immune system are at risk for severe illness, which can lead to hospitalization if the infection enters the bloodstream.
Guidance for Consumers
Food safety officials urge consumers who find a matching lot code in their pantries to stop using the seasoning immediately. The product should not be consumed, gifted, or donated, and should be thrown away in a secured trash receptacle.
Blackstone Products is offering free replacement items for impacted households. Customers seeking a replacement or additional details regarding the recall can contact the company’s customer service department at 1-888-879-4610. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.
