INDIANAPOLIS — Students, professional researchers, and data enthusiasts looking to sharpen their analytical skills have a unique professional development opportunity coming to the capital city next week.

The Indiana State Library has announced the latest installment of its 2026 Lunch and Learn Series, featuring a specialized workshop titled “Help with Statistical Research.”
Scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., the event is structured as a hybrid program. Participants can choose to attend virtually from home or office, or bring their lunch for an interactive, in-person session held inside the library’s historic History Reference Room.
The session will be led by Katharine Springer, the Director of the Indiana State Data Center. Springer will guide attendees through the often complex landscape of pulling public federal and state data repositories.
The curriculum is tailored to help researchers discover hidden data sources, master advanced search techniques, and properly cite the latest figures for upcoming academic research, corporate projects, or policy reports.
