Truck driver injured in semi rollover crash in Paoli

PAOLI A truck driver was hospitalized Tuesday morning following a semi-truck rollover crash in Orange County.

First responders were dispatched to the Castle Knoll area just outside Paoli along US 150 at State Road 56, at approximately 7:55 a.m. after receiving reports of a semi-truck flipping over with the driver trapped inside, according to the Paoli Fire Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arriving at the scene, emergency personnel discovered the driver had already managed to extricate himself from the wreckage.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) treated the driver at the scene for his injuries before transporting him to the University of Louisville (UofL) Hospital for further medical care.

According to officials with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the driver sustained multiple bruises and a broken ankle in the crash. The driver’s current condition has not been released.

The emergency response was handled by the Paoli Fire Department, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and local EMS personnel.

The cause of the rollover remains under investigation.
