Douglas W. Bennett, 48, of Seymour, passed away on May 16, 2026, at his home. He was born on September 20, 1977, in Anderson, Indiana, to the late Douglas and Debbie Hoppes Bennett. Doug was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Surviving to cherish the memory of Doug is his wife of over 20 years, Stacey Bennett; his sister, Michelle (Chad Riley) Bennett; his dog, Gunner; mother-in-law, Becky Vest; father-in-law, Tim (Sandi) Vest; brothers-in-law, Joshua (Megan) Vest and Saul (Jill Vandergriff) Vest; nephews, Jonathon (Jessica) Leisure and Lincoln Vest; and his niece, Tenley Vest.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Debbie Hoppes Bennett; and his grandparents, Alfred and Betty Bennett, and Paul and Juanita Hoppes.
In keeping with Doug’s wishes, cremation has been chosen, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Scotty Wessel and Jon Pace of Burkholder Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes in Seymour.
